Foundation: on site
Corten steel in stainless steel look will show some rust peeling of 0.05 mm of the surface, especially in the first few years. We therefore recommend planning the installation in such a way that this rust detachment can run off in a defined manner and no discolouration occurs in the area of the objects.
When combining wooden seat supports and Corten steel, the iron oxide adhering to the surface and the tannic acid present in the wood can cause dark grey and black discolouration of the wooden supports. This is a natural process in this combination and does not justify a complaint. With increasing natural greying of the wood, the grey stains that appear in advance disappear and the surface colour converges.
The seat cushions are made of wood. Wood is a natural material that can vary in colour. The seat covers are made exclusively from kiln-dried wood. Despite all care, drying cracks may occur and knots may be visible. These are natural characteristics and do not justify a complaint. Border samples can be matched on request.
Wood care instructions:
All wood used outdoors turns grey within a few months and takes on the typical silvery appearance. It is possible to oil the wood with suitable wood preservative oil so that the greying of the wood is delayed. You can find more information on this on our homepage at www.gartenmetall.de
